I hope you all took the opportunity to watch our amazing Team GB athletes at the recent Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. It was a very successful Olympics for Team GB with a record haul of medals resulting in Great Britain finishing second in the medal table! What an outstanding result!

Warrender was represented by Keri-anne Payne and Dan Wallace at the Games, with (previous member) Craig Benson also on the team.

Keri-anne swam the 10km Open Water on Copacabana Beach, what an amazing venue! It was a very competitive race with Keri-anne finishing in 7th place at her third Olympic Games.

On the pool team, Dan Wallace was a member of the Men’s 4×200 Freestyle relay team which won a silver medal behind the United States of America. Dan teamed with Stephen Milne, Duncan Scott and James Guy; all putting in outstanding performances to claim the silver medal. Dan also made it through to the final of the 200m Individual Medley.

Craig Benson swam in the heats and semi-finals of the 200m Breaststroke, finishing 15th.

Well done to Keri-anne, Dan and Craig on their fantastic performances, we are all very proud!

Now that our Olympic athletes have returned, we get set to farewell our Paralympic team which includes our very own Scott Quin. Scott heads to London on Saturday for his prep camp and then the team fly to Rio on the 1st September. Scott will swim the SB14 100m Breaststroke.

Good luck Scott, we will all be cheering you on!!!
